Engineering Hydraulics Laboratory
Activity fields
- Studies on physical models of free surface and pressurized flows, considering sediments or air entrainment
- Hydraulic design and hydrodynamics analysis of structures (dams, locks, hydroelectric power plants...)
- Hydrodynamic studies of large hydraulic projects by means of coupled experimental-numerical approachs
- Making and operation of experimental facilities to perform research works in free surface and pressurized hydraulics
- Small or large scale physical models manufacturing
-
Flowmeters calibration (propelers and electromagnetic probes)
Facilities
- 900 m² test slab and et and 210 m² second floor.
- 350 m² covered storage area.
- 4 manufacturing shops fully equipped on more than 210 m² (PVC/resin, wood, metals, concrete).
- Closed circuit water system with a 400 m³ storage tank.
Equipment
- 2 autoregulated pupms for discharge up to 400 l/s with 2 bars
- 1 pump for discharge up to 100 l/s with 1,5 bars (constant level tank)
- 1 high pressure system for pressure - discharge values up to 12 bars with 10 l/s and 8 bars with 90 l/.
- Horizontal glass flume 10 m long, 1 m wide and 50 cm high.
- Articulated glass flume (2 x 10 m long) to reproduce all combinations of bottom slopes (under construction).
